Kids in the Word

Children’s ministry is more than simply babysitting! Our goal is to partner with families to help children encounter God, and enter into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

Sunday Mornings

Each Sunday morning four age-specific classes are offered for kids from birth through 5th grade.

Toddlers – Ages 1-2

Our Toddler class is staffed by caring and trained adults whose utmost concern is for the safety of your child. At this young age, children are taught that they have a God who made them and loves them.

Preschool – Ages 3-4

Our Preschool class is filled with energetic praise and worship, illustrated stories, puppets, and more as children learn about their God who made them and has an amazing plan for their life.

Early Elementary – K5 – 1st Grade

Children in our Early Elementary class learn about Jesus Christ as their Savior and are encouraged to respond to that message. Children also participate in exciting praise & worship, and learn God’s word through puppets & object lessons.

Kid’s Church: 2nd – 5th Grade

Kid’s Church is a church service designed specifically for kids. It’s a lot of fun (just ask any kid), but a lot of learning takes place as well. Music, videos, stories, games, and more make up a creative worship experience designed to draw kids closer to God and experience the power of the Holy Spirit.

Safety & Security

We work hard to create a safe environment for all kids who attend. All volunteers are screened and trained. We also use KidCheck for safe and secure check-in and check-out. If you’re planning on visiting us for the first time, you can speed up the check-in process by creating a secure KidCheck account before your visit.

Kids in the Word FAQ’s

1) Do Kids In The Word programs cost anything?
We love kids and we want as many as possible to attend so our regular weekly programs are completely free of charge. There may be a registration fee for special events and/or camps.

2) Where do we go when we arrive?
When you arrive at church, go with your child(ren) to the children’s ministry banner where our check-in stations are located. There a volunteer will assist you in checking in your child(ren) with our secure KidCheck system.

3) What kind of security checks do volunteers go through?
Screening for Kids in the Word volunteers involves criminal background checks, reference checks, and a personal interview with a KITW staff member.

4) What is the wellness policy of Kids in the Word?
In order to maintain the health of other children and our staff we ask that you NOT check your child into class if they are having any symptoms of sickness.

5) What if Kids in the Word needs to contact me during service?
In the event that the KITW staff needs to reach you during the service regarding your child, the last three digits of your check-in receipt will appear on the LED screen to the left of the sanctuary stage.
